Extra info

I'll show the photos of the headphones themselves, the earpad size comparison against the old headphones (owned for two and a half years) and the EQ settings (in order: -6, +6, +6, +3, +6, +6, +3, 0).
Hopefully the all-plastic build doesn't sacrifice the long-term durability (especially the hinge area) as I plan to own the Space One for as long as possible. I clean them regularly (something I didn't really do for the old ones) and put them inside the bag unfolded every time I don't use them.

These headphones make commuting and noisy environments actually bearable

I was in the market for my first pair of ANC headphones for awhile, and since I have autism I can't stand loud and sudden noises, and with the JBLs that I previously owned I could still hear the ambient hum and loud buses, chatter and motorbikes when playing music, and when I increase the volume I end up feeling stressed. After some research I found that these are one of the best deals for the price. On paper, they are better in all aspects than my old JBLs, and they're even able to compete with more expensive offerings from brands like Sony, Bose and Apple. I had high expectations, but at the same time I felt some skepticism due to some critical opinions they have had.
When I used them for the first time, first impressions were very good. I felt like I made a very good choice as soon as I realized how good these actually are. First of all, they look better in person, they have a sleek profile no matter what angle you look at them. When I first put them on, I had a feeling of pressure in my ears, like I was wearing in-ear headphones; I got used to it quickly. All features are responsive (I like the fact that the wear detection turns off ambient modes as well) and the ambient modes are effective.
The sound quality out of the box is better than I expected, they have a pleasant timbre with nice, warm highs, and there's noticeable sub-bass presence (the 02.87 firmware version emphasized the sub-bass on normal mode, I assume it's an attempt to decrease the sound shift when turning on ambient modes) while giving a sense of space in the music (created an EQ for these, which makes them sound as faithful as possible to the artists' productions; it makes the nuances of the tracks stand out and opens up the soundstage).
They feel very well built despite an all-plastic build, are very comfortable whilst keeping a nice and secure fit on my average-ish sized head and really reduce ambient sounds when I wear them on the bus or I'm in a place with a lot of people talking at once (it actually detects mismatches in the seal and calibrates the ANC to ensure proper isolation); the ANC on these is like covering your ears or wearing earmuffs, which is very good for the price. Transparency mode works better than I expected, and I found that Easy Chat mode really amplifies the sounds around me.
I also found that I get the best experience by placing the headband close to the back of my head, since the drivers are 10mm smaller than the JBLs and the cavity is significantly more spacious. Also the bump in the middle of the driver helps with the treble performance to balance the frequency response.
I noticed that when using them for the first time the battery lasted less than what Soundcore promised, but when charging and discharging them the first few times the battery performs closer to what they say.
All in all, they are leaps and bounds better than what I've previously owned, even if sometimes they have minor issues which can easily be solved by turning off and on.
If you're looking for a set of premium ANC headphones that ticks all the boxes (or the majority) but don't want to break your wallet, you won't go wrong with these. There are sacrifices that come with the price point (occasional creaking and carrying pouch).
